I don't think that you need to necessarily feel a really deep emotion when you make art, I think that it's more just necessary to be honest when you make it. Not feeling some rollercoaster of emotions doesn't make a piece of art better, it just makes it different. And it doesn't make you less of an artist if that's not the way you choose to do it, it just makes what you produce differnt to what the person that does work that way produces.
