… Yeah, this was a kind of a random entry.

My top albums of 2007. You knew it had to come, the music addict I am. Let’s find a way to liquefy it so I can just hook it up to my veins and mmmmmmm. Instead of listing the albums recorded this year that made me squee, I am instead going to type the albums that I squeed over this year, that were not necessarily recorded this year. In no particular order:

  1. Various Artists- Lost In Translation OST
  2. Patrick Wolf- Lycanthropy
  3. Death Cab For Cutie- Plans
  4. Sufjan Stevens- Come On Feel The Illinoise!
  5. The Velvet Underground- White Light/White Heat
  6. John Mayer- The Village Sessions
  7. Frédéric Chopin- The Best Of Chopin
  8. Performed by The Kronos Quartet, composed by Clint Mansell- Requiem For A Dream OST
  9. Bloc Party- A Weekend In The City
  10. Sigur Rós- Takk…

I found this website, and I fainted: Too Generic. I am completely in love with the design. It’s just so simple and lovely and eee! I ♥ colour. I’m probably OCD about colour.

Where were you when you found out Dumbledore was gay? Personally, I was quietly browsing my way through a book store. I stumbled across a delightful novel about a boy named Harry who finds out he is a famous wizard, meets an inspirational old wizard who once vanquished one the most evil wizards ever, and saved the wizard world from evil. It was very good. Suddenly, a ninja dressed entirely in black jumped out from behind the bookshelf and laughed hysterically: “He’s gay, he’s gay, the old coot is gay!” and jumped back behind the shelf after making this shocking revelation. I wept.

I watched Factory Girl yesterday. It was so sex-ish and drug-y, but I really liked it! I thought it wouldn’t be that sex-ish or drug-y, so it was kind of shocking at times for my delicate flower of a self (lawl), especially with that One Scene In The Middle. Despite this, it was about Edie Sedgwick and Andy Warhol, and they fascinate me no end. I’ve read about a billion articles on them, and all the things surrounding them (The Factory, Warhol Superstars, The Velvet Underground etc). So I made sure that I saw it. It got some pretty bad reviews, but I didn’t see why it should have. Being the ‘Warhol-era’, there are so many texts on it, so I suppose there was no room for an inaccurate story. And, admittedly, I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who wanted an accurate account of the Warhol-Sedgwick story: They took too many artistic liberties for it to be neutral and/or informal.

But stylistically? It was fantastic. It was just how I would imagine a Warhol film to be like- artsy, bold and provocative. Guy Pearce is awesome awesome awesome as Andy Warhol, and Sienna Miller got Edie Sedgwick’s mannerisms and down pat. And her voice! It was freakishly close, if I didn’t know better I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between their voices (I watched clips on Youtube featuring Edie talking, that’s how I know what she sounds like). I want the soundtrack. I was surprised and slightly disapointed there was no Velvet Underground on there. They were huge because of Warhol! Besides, they rock my socks. I wish they were part of the 21st century, and not the 60’s… Man, I really wish I could stop talking about movies!

You know what word I’ve warmed up to lately? ‘Delight’. “The colours fill me with delight!” “Your vast range of vocabulary is a delight to read,” “The movie was delightful!”. It makes me think of the Chronicles Of Narnia. You know that bit where the witch offers the gullible little idiot of a boy some Turkish delight?

My train of thought is retarded.

Oh, and this is one of the most adorable blogs ever: Huuugs! I added it to my blogroll. It’s just so cute! It makes me smile :D. I doubt the writer is five, though… But who cares! Even if it isn’t real, it’s just adorable. Ehee.

I always skeptically figured the whole “Dumbledore is gay!” thing was unveiled at the last moment after the hype of the seventh book had died down so J. K. Rowling could garner some more from the series. :/ I do think she already had planned for him to be gay, but only chose to reveal the truth when she needed the media attention.

I’m glad you included Bloc Party on your “Top albums of 2007″ list. Bloc Party are bloody amazing. :D
