music
Mmm, music! There’s nothing like a good song. Or album, for that matter. Music is incredibly important to me. It has quite a bit to do with how I’ve grown up and how it’s influenced me as a person, but that’s a rather long story. I don’t think that you can tell what someone is like by the music they listen to, yet I do believe that music can have a lot of impact in ones life. Music is a wonderful language that everyone can speak and understand, and that is what makes it so very awesome.
As for genres, artists, bands and such, I can’t really say exactly what type of music I like, as I tend not to restrict myself by listening only to particular genres. I can like anything from David Bowie to Fatboy Slim. My music taste is pretty varied, and if you have any recommendations music wise for me, feel free to speak up :)! Much glee is to be had when discovering new musiks.
Some artists that I absolutely love are Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Patrick Wolf and Sufjan Stevens. I just never get tired of their music! Then there are those ‘Currently obsessed with…’ artists, that I just can’t get enough of at that moment. I also love hoarding movie soundtracks. Because of this, I tend to focus on the score/soundtrack when I watch a movie. When the closing credits start rolling, I’ll be thinking about whether I want to get my hands on the soundtrack or not.
Of course, I have a special place in my heart for all those ‘classic’ artists such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. But, then again, virtually everyone loves themselves some Beatles! Which is a pretty funny name for a band, now that I think about it. Oh well. U2’s name doesn’t seem to affect their success…
